HERAKLION PIANO FESTIVAL
Designing the Piano Festival started in 2014 by its founders and contributors Dimitris Karydis, Petros Moschos and Joanna Giannari.
It was based on a relevant study conducted in the artistic, social, educational and cultural field, by Joanna who acted as the Cultural Director.
The first piano festival was presented in February 2016 and the next ones followed on an annual basis. The festivals were designed in a way that had a local and a non-local character.
The goals of the Heraklion Piano Festival are:
To attract the music-loving public of Heraklion and to also expand it with high level concerts by internationally renowned Greek and foreign artists.
To stimulate and educate the audience to the instrument, music, performers and composers with recitals in which the artists will converse with the audience.
To give the opportunity to all piano students from Crete and also from the rest of Greece to attend piano seminars with internationally renowned artists, either as active participants or as listeners.
To nurture the children of Heraklion in classical music with educational concerts.
To utilise the well-equipped halls of the new Cultural Conference Center of Heraklion in an entertaining and educational way.
